Stafford Lecture on Banking

Edward A. Krei will deliver the 2024 Robert Stafford Lecture on Banking on Thursday, May 2, in the Stark Lecture Hall, 1148 Gerdin Business Building. Krei will discuss community banking in uncertain economic times. The lecture is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Krei is a bank consultant and was previously the managing director of an investment broker/dealer. He has served on the faculty of the graduate schools of banking at Southern Methodist University, Colorado, and Louisiana State University, and as a speaker for many other banking programs and regulatory agencies including the FDIC and the Federal Reserve. He has received numerous teaching awards and has been inducted into the Independent Bankers Association of Texas Wall of Honor.

Krei serves on the boards of three financial institutions. He graduated with honors from the University of Mississippi and is a member of the Patterson School of Accountancy’s Hall of Fame. He was gold medalist on the CPA examination in Tennessee. Krei has served on the boards of many charitable organizations and is a trustee of the University of Mississippi Foundation and a trustee and treasurer of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

About the series

The Robert Stafford Lecture Series on Banking was established by the Ivy College of Business and funded by Ames National Corporation as a part of its 100 years of service to Ames. The lecture honors the late Robert Stafford for his many years of dedicated service to First National Bank and Ames National Corporation.
