College of Business Announces Recent Administrative Promotions

College of Business Announces Recent Administrative Promotions

Scott Grawe was recently promoted to the position of associate dean of strategic initiatives, outcomes assessment and international programs, which is a new position for the college.  Grawe is an associate professor and Sturgeon Fellow in Business in Supply Chain Management, and served most recently as associate department chair of Supply Chain and Information Systems.

 

Grawe has a long history with the college. He was a student athlete, a business graduate, and now a member of our faculty and administration.


Russ Laczniak has been named associate dean for graduate programs at the College of Business. He has served as interim associate dean since July 2015.

Laczniak has had a distinguished career as a researcher and teacher, and he has been heavily involved in both faculty and student mentoring. He received his PhD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Marketing (June 1987), his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (December 1979), and his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University (May 1978). He has industry experience with Wisconsin Bell. Laczniak came to Iowa State in 1987.


Pol Herrmann has been named chair of the Management and Marketing departments at the College of Business. He has served as interim chair since July 2015.

Herrmann has had a distinguished career as a researcher and teacher and he has been involved in both faculty and student mentoring. He received his PhD at the University of Kansas in Strategic Management, his MS from Southern Methodist University in Engineering Management, and his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic National School in Quito, Ecuador. He has several years of industry experience with Mardis Consulting, Seguros Equinoccial, Citibank, and Cosideco. Herrmann came to Iowa State in 1999.
