Orientation Check-In

Please check in prior to the placement assessment or anytime before 9:30 a.m.

ISU Card

As a new student, your first ISUCard (permanent student identification card) is free. You need to have your ISUCard before you can sign up for your e-mail address. You need a photo ID (driver's license, high school ID, etc.) to get your ISUCard. In less than 10 minutes, you'll have your card and all the information you need to use it.

Email Registration

You must get your ISUCard before you can register for your e-mail address. Please select your user name (3-8 characters) and password (at least 5 characters) before you come to this session. Your e-mail address is your user name plus @iastate.edu (e.g., jstudent@iastate.edu). You must use your Iowa State e-mail - this is the address that faculty, staff and members of the university will use to communicate

English Placement Assessment

Your college will inform you if you need to take an English placement assessment. Please check in by 8:30 a.m. if you plan to take the English placement assessment. Contact your college if you have questions.
