AMES, Iowa – The College of Business at Iowa State University invites high school girls grades 9-12 who want to explore college and career options in business fields – or are undecided and want to explore business – to attend Young Women In Business: Unleash Your Potential on Monday, October 3 on the ISU campus in Ames. This is the second year of the conference.
Young Women In Business aims to help female high school students explore business, encourage them to have confidence in their abilities, and give them the opportunity to learn about the wide variety of fields and leadership opportunities available to them.
Conference participants will learn about career options, internship opportunities, study abroad programs, and what students can expect throughout their college careers. They will meet and interact with positive role models including successful businesswomen from many industries, College of Business faculty, and current Iowa State female business students.
New to this year’s conference is a separate track for parents, teachers, and guidance counselors. Programming includes information about admissions, college financing, student services, career planning, and more.
The conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost for high school girls is $15 per person, and scholarships are available. Parents, teachers, and counselors are $10 per person. Costs include the entire day’s program, conference materials, and lunch on campus.
The registration deadline is next Monday, September 26. Learn more and register at www.business.iastate.edu/events/ywib.
