Teamwork in the MBA Program
In today’s business environment, teamwork is essential to success. In order to give our MBA students the opportunity to develop and apply their teamwork skills, the MBA has a team component built into the program.
All MBA students, full-time and part-time, will be assigned to a team at the beginning of their core program. The teams are formed by the MBA program staff with diversity in mind. The teams will work together through the entire core curriculum. Each full-time MBA team will be assigned a faculty advisor.
The lock-step nature of the core curriculum and the team component of the MBA help students attain success in their MBA program. Upon completion of the core classes, students have practiced at length and gained significant confidence in their teamwork skills, which will transfer on to their team experience in the workplace.
"I've worked with many groups and teams on various projects, inside and outside of class, but never for an extended period of time as in the MBA program. My team is composed of a group of people that come from very different backgrounds, and yet we have learned how to effectively work together to analyze situations, develop creative solutions, and push through interpersonal challenges--all while actually enjoying ourselves!" -- Christina Demuth, MBA 2010
