Two SBDC Women Honored for Service to Iowa’s Small Business

Women hail from Boone and Sperry

 

AMES, Iowa – Two dedicated business women were recently honored by America’s SBDC Iowa.

 

Deb Duncan, Program Assistant, America’s SBDC Iowa, Ames was presented with a 25 year service award for her years of commitment to this business service organization. Janine Clover, Regional Director, Southeastern SBDC, Burlington, was presented with the “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” award.

 

Lisa Shimkat, State Director of America’s SBDC Iowa, says, “Both of these women have made tremendous contributions to the SBDC program. We wanted to recognize their achievements and dedication to small businesses in Iowa.”

 

The two women were presented with their awards on November 5th in Ames, in front of their peers.

 

The America’s SBDC Iowa program is an outreach program of Iowa State University’s College of Business. Funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the organization has 15 regional assistance centers located strategically across the state. Since program inception in 1981, the Center has helped hundreds of thousands of Iowa businesses and entrepreneurs through no cost, confidential, customized, professional business counseling and practical, affordable training.
