Iowa State Business Week Activities Announced

The College of Business announces Business Week 2015, which begins Wednesday September 23 and culminates on September 30th with the fall 2015 Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair at Hilton Coliseum.

The purpose of Business Week is threefold.  First, Business Week is designed to provide students with professional development opportunities such as the Speaker Series.  Second, Business Week is a great opportunity for students to network with potential employers.  Third, Business Week helps build awareness and excitement for the Career Fair.

This year, there are more activities and opportunities associated with Business Week.  For example, students, faculty and staff will participate in a service project, Meals for the Heartland. Another new event is Mingle Like You Mean It, which is a networking event featuring Jeff Johnson, Lora and Russ Talbot Endowed President and Chief Executive Officer of the ISU Alumni Association. Students will learn effective ways to mingle with other professionals at social events.

All Iowa State University students are invited to any of the coffee/ snack breaks, which will be held in the Granite Hallway of the Gerdin Business Building:

Thursday Sept. 24 from 9-11 a.m.

Friday Sept. 25 from 8:45-10:45 a.m.

Monday Sept. 28 from 8:45-10:45 a.m.

Tuesday Sept. 29 from 9-11 a.m.

All students on campus are encouraged to attend the fall 2015 Business, Industry and Technology Career Fair at Hilton Coliseum, whether or not they currently need an internship or job.

“This is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with business professionals and make important contacts,” said Raisbeck Endowed Dean David Spalding. “We have 189 businesses who will have representatives at the career fair. “I encourage all students to take advantage of the chance to make connections and learn about careers from these wonderful businesses.”

The career fair will be held from Noon to 6:00 p.m.  Wednesday, September 30. Business representatives will meet with students to discuss internship and career opportunities.

All Business Week events are listed on the College of Business web site: www.business.iastate.edu/.
