Dean’s Message

Happy 31st Anniversary to the College of Business!

Even though summer months tend to be somewhat quiet in the halls, there has been a lot of activity. If you’ve been on campus, you have surely noticed the many construction projects taking place, including the extensive work on Wallace Road. Campus project details continue to be outlined on Inside Iowa State. Please plan your travels accordingly, and walk safely around campus.

We’ve also enjoyed having future students and their families in the building this summer during orientation. They brought a lot of excitement and energy into the building again. Organizing orientation is no easy task. Please join me in thanking the many people who helped organize all of the visits, in particular those in the undergraduate office, as well as others who assisted. You’ve all done a wonderful job to make orientation such a positive event for incoming students and their families.

I would also like to send a warm welcome to our new Department Chair in Supply Chain and Information Systems, Dr. Jacquelyn Rees Ulmer, who comes to us from the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University, where she was an Associate Professor of Management. Please help me in welcoming Jackie to the College of Business.

Please mark your calendar for the College of Business Welcome Back picnic on Friday evening, 6:00-8:00 p.m. August 21. You will receive an email invitation soon.

I hope you are enjoying a restful summer and some extra downtime with your friends and families. See you all very soon!
