AMES, Iowa – The College of Business at Iowa State University is hosting its fourth annual Young Women In Business: Unleash Your Potential, a conference for high school girls grades nine through 12, on Monday, October 21 in the Gerdin Business Building. The conference costs only $15 and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Young Women In Business aims to help female high school students explore the wide variety of business fields and opportunities available to them, as well as interacting with women business leaders and young professionals. College of Business faculty will also moderate sessions.

“We’re excited to host Young Women In Business,” said Kayla Sander, lecturer of accounting and chair of the Young Women In Business conference. “Every year we get such great feedback – our attendees love interacting with our guest speakers, and our speakers love interacting with the girls who attend. It’s really invaluable for high school girls to hear straight from professionals, faculty, and female college business majors.”

The day’s schedule includes three sessions with industry professionals, one session with College of Business faculty, a keynote speaker, and a Q&A panel session with current female College of Business students. A raffle with prizes and pictures with Cy, Iowa State’s mascot, will also be held in the afternoon, as well as campus tours. The $15 registration fee includes the entire day’s program, conference materials, and lunch on campus.

Parents, teachers, and school counselors are also welcome to attend; separate programming is offered specifically for them.

Participants are encouraged to register as quickly as possible; the deadline is Monday, October 14 and space is limited. Learn more and register at www.business.iastate.edu/events/ywib.
