College of Business Awards for Alumni and Friends
These awards are given annually by the College of Business at the ISU Alumni Association all-university Honors and Awards Ceremony at Homecoming each fall.

Citation of Achievement Award
Established in 1985, this award honors distinguished alumni who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in life beyond the campus.
Russ and Ann Gerdin Award
The Russ and Ann Gerdin Award was established during the College of Business’ 25th anniversary in 2009 to honor contributions from valuable corporate partners or successful individuals who are not College of Business graduates. The award is named in honor of Russ and Ann Gerdin, who in 1998 made a $10 million lead gift to build the Gerdin Business Building. Neither attended Iowa State.
John D. DeVries Service Award
This award was established in 1985 to recognize individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the College of Business.

James A. Hopson Alumni Volunteer Award | Learn more
Recognizes alumni aged 40 and under who demonstate early volunteer leadership in the ISU Alumni Association or alumni-related activities and who are members of the ISU Alumni Association.
Impact Award | Learn more
Recognizes an individual, business, organization, or unit whose programs or accomplishments brought broad recognition to the university and increased the involvement of ISU constituents in the life of the university during the year prior to being nominated.
National Service Award | Learn more
Recognizes alumni whose self-initiated activities and service, nationally or internationally, consistently support the daily work of the ISU Alumni Association in further connecting alumni, students, and friends to the university.
ISUAA Superior Service to Alumni Award | Learn more
Awarded at the University's Fall Convocation Ceremony. Recognizes an Iowa State faculty or staff member who has demonstrated a commitment to establishing or furthering alumni relationships with the university.
Wallace E. Barron All-University Senior Award | Learn more
Awarded at the University's Student Scholars and Leaders Ceremony each spring. Recognizes outstanding seniors who display high character, outstanding achievement in academics and university/community activities, and promise for continuing these exemplary qualities as alumni.
Distinguished Achievement Award | Learn more
Presented at the Distinguished Awards Celebration each spring. This is the highest honor given to alumni by Iowa State University through the ISU Alumni Association. It honors ISU alumni who are nationally and/or internationally recognized for preeminent contributions to their professions or life's work.
Honorary Alumni Award | Learn more
Presented at the Distinguished Awards Celebration each spring. This is the highest honor given by Iowa State University through the ISU Alumni Association to individuals who are not graduates of Iowa State University and who have made significant contributions to Iowa State's welfare, reputation, prestige, and pursuit of excellence.

Awarded to a corporation or foundation that has demonstrated generosity to Iowa State University and the ISU Foundation for leadership gifts, corporate representation on college advisory committees and assist students and faculty through internships and research programs.
Order of the Knoll Faculty/Staff Award | Learn more
Awarded to an individual or couple employed by or retired from Iowa State University who has/have brought distinction to the university, its students, programs or research significantly beyond the expectations of the position(s) held.
Order of the Knoll Young Alumni Award | Learn more
Awarded to an Iowa State University alumnus/a (42 years old or younger) who is making a continuing impact on the ISU community, is a member of the Order of the Knoll and is providing outstanding service, leadership and involvement in his/her community.
